Source of healing, help us to find healing among those who care for us and those for whom we care. Shelter us under wings of love and help us to stand up again for life even as we mourn our loss. May these tefillot, as I meditate on them, provide me with concentration and comfort during this time.
(ג) הָ֭רֹפֵא לִשְׁב֣וּרֵי לֵ֑ב וּ֝מְחַבֵּ֗שׁ לְעַצְּבוֹתָֽם׃
(3) Who heals the broken in heart, And binds up their wounds.
This tefillah from Weekday Maariv reminds me that even in the darkest of nights, the Source of Life and my loved ones are there with me.
השכיבנו אבינו לשלום, והעמידנו מלכנו לחיים טובים ולשלום. ופרוס עלינו סוכת שלומך, ותקננו מלכנו בעצה טובה מלפניך, והושיענו מהרה למען שמך. והגן בעדנו, והסר מעלינו מכת אויב, דבר, חרב, חולי, צרה, רעה, רעב, ויגון, ומשחית ומגיפה.
שבור והסר (ה)שטן מלפנינו ומאחרינו, ובצל כנפיך תסתירנו.
ושמור צאתינו ובואינו לחיים טובים ולשלום, מעתה ועד עולם. (קהילות גאורגיה מוסיפים: מפחד יום) ומפחד לילה. ברוך אתה ה', שומר את עמו ישראל לעד, אמן.
Help us lie down, O Lord out God, in peace, and rise up, O our King, to Life. Spread over us Your camopy of peace. Direct us with Your good counsel, and save us for the sake of your name. Shield us and remove from us every enemy, plague, sword, famine, and sorrow. Remove the adversary from before us and behind us. Shelter us in the shadow of your wings, for You, God, are our Guardian and Deliverer; You, God are a gracious and compassionate King.
Guard our going out and out coming in, for life and for peace, from now and forever (some add: from the fears I face at night and the fears I face during the day). Blessed are You, Hashem, who guards His people Israel forever.
