The Exodus From Slavery in Egypt To the Sea....
Slavery -- Shmot Chapter 1

(8) And a new king rose over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. (9) And he said to his people, "Here the people of the children of Israel is more numerous and powerful than we. (10) Come on, let's be wise toward it or else it will increase; and it will be, when war will happen, that it too will be added to our enemies, and will war against us and go up from the land." (11) And they set task-masters over them to degrade them with their burdens. And they built for storage-cities for Pharaoh, Pithom and Rameses. (12) And the more they degraded it, the more it increased, and the more it expanded; and they felt a disgust at the children of Israel. (13) And Egypt made the children of Israel serve with harshness. (14) and they made their lives bitter with hard work, with mortar and bricks and with all the work in the field -- all their work that they did for them -- with harshness. (15) And the king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives -- one named Shifrah and the other named Puah (16) and he said: ‘When you deliver the Hebrew women and you look at the stones, if its a boy then kill him and if its a girl then she'll live."

The Cry that Changed the World -- Shmot Chapter 2

(23) And it was after those many days, that the King of Egypt died. And the children of Israel groaned from the work, and they cried out, and their wail went up to God from the work. (24) And God heard their moaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. (25) And God saw the children of Israel, and God knew!

The Tenth Plague and Pharaoh's Response -- Shmot Chapter 12

(29) And it was in the middle of the night, and God struck every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who was sitting on his throne to the firstborn of the prisoner who was in the prison house and every firstborn of an animal. (30) And Pharaoh got up at night, he and all his servants and all Egypt, and there was a big cry in Egypt, because there was not a house in which there was not one dead. (31) And he called Moses and Aaron at night, and he said "Get up. Go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel, and go, serve God as you spoke. (32) Take your sheep also, your oxen also, as you spoke and go. And you'll bless me as well" (33) And Egypt was forceful on the people to hurry to let them go from the land because they said "We're all dead!"

(34) And the people carried off their dough before it leavened, their bowls being wrapped in their garments on their shoulders. (35) And the children of Israel had done according to Moses word, and they asked items of silver and items of gold and garments from Egypt. (36) And God had put the people's favor in the Egyptian's eyes, and they lent to them, and they despoiled Egypt. (37) And the children of Israel travelled from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot -- men, apart from infants.

(38) And also a great mixture had gone up with them, and sheep and oxen, a very heavy livestock. (39) And they baked the dough that they brought out of Egypt: cakes of unleavened bread, because it had not leavened, because they were driven from Egypt and were not able to delay, and they also had not made provisions for themselves. (40) And the duration of the children of Israel that they lived in Egypt was thirty years and four hundred years (41)And it was at the end of four hundred and thirty years, and it was in that very day; all of God's masses went out from the land of Egypt. (42) It is a night to be observed for God for bringing them out from the land of Egypt. It is this night, to be observed for God for all the children of Israel through their generations.

(3) And Moses said to the people, "Remember this day in which you went out from Egypt, from a house of slaves, because God brought you out of here by strength of hand: And no leavened bread should be eaten (4) Today you are going out, in the month of Abib. (5) And it will be, when God will bring you to the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite and the Amorite, and the Hivite and the Jebusite, which he swore to your fathers to give to you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you will perform this service in this month. (6) You shall eat unleavened bread seven days, and on the seventh day is a festival to God.

(7) Unleavened bread will be eaten for the seven days, and leavened bread shall not be seen for you, and leaven shall not be seen for you within all your borders. (8) And you shall tell your child in that day, saying "Because of that which God did for me when I went out from Egypt." (9) And it will become a sign on your hand and a reminder between your eyes for you so that God's instruction will be in your mouth, because God brought you out from Egypt with a strong hand. (10) And you shall observe this law at its appointed time regularly.

(1) And God spoke unto Moses, saying: (2) ’Speak to the children of Israel that they should go back and camp in front of Pi-Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, in front of Baal-Zephon. (3) And Pharaoh will say about the children of Israel"They're muddled in the land! The wilderness has closed them in." (4) And I will strengthen/harden Pharoah's heart, and he'll pursue them, and I'll be glorified against Pharaoh, and against all his army, and Egypt will know that I am God." And they did so.

(5) And it was told the king of Egypt that the people were fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was changed towards the people. And they said: "What is this we've done, that we let Israel go from serving us?" (6) And he hitched his chariot, and took his people with him. (7) And he took six hundred chosen chariots -- and all the chariots of Egypt -- and officers over all of it. (8) And God strengthened/hardened the heart of Pharaoh, King of Egypt, and he pursued the children of Israel. And the children of Israel were going out with a high hand. (9) And Egypt pursued them, and they caught up to them, camping by the sea -- every chariot horse of Pharaoh and his horsemen and his army --, at Pi-Hahiroth, in front of Baal-Zephon.

(10) And Pharaoh came close! And the children of Israel raised their eyes, and here was Egypt coming after them, and they were very afraid. And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord. (11) And they said to Moses: "Was it because of an absence of graves in Egypt, that you took us to die in the wilderness? What is this that you have done to us to bring us out of Egypt? (12) Isn't this the thing that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying "Stop from us! And let's serve Egypt. Because serving Egypt is better for us than our dying in the wilderness!"

Moses Responds to the People

(13) And Moses said to the people, "Don't be afraid. Stand still and see what God's salvation that he'll do for you today. For as you've seen Egypt today, you will never see them again, ever. (14) The Lord will fight for you, and you'll keep quiet.’

(15) And God said to Moses: ‘Why do you cry out to me? Speak to the children of Israel that they should move! (16) And you, lift your staff and reach your hand out over the sea -- and split it! (17) And I, here, I'm strengthening/hardening Egypt's heart, and they'll come after them, and I'll be glorified against Pharaoh and against all of his army, against his chariots and against his horsemen. (18) And Egypt will know that I am God when I'm glorified against Pharaoh, against his chariots and against his horsemen." (19) And the angel of God who was going in front of the camp of Israel moved and went behind them. (20) And it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel. And there was the cloud and darkness (for the Egyptians), while the column of fire lit the night for the Israelites, and one did not come near the other all night. (21) And Moses reached his hand over the sea, and God drove back the sea with with a strong east wind all night and turned the sea into dry ground, and the sea was split. (22) And the children of Israel came through the sea on dry ground. And the water was a wall to them at their right and at their left. (23) And Egypt pursued and came after them, every horse of Pharaoh, his chariots and his horsemen through the sea. (24) And it was in the morning watch, and God gazed at Egypt's camp through a column of fire and cloud and threw Egypt's camp into tumult. (25) and He turned its chariots' wheel so that it drove with a heaviness. And Egypt said, "Let me flee from Israel, because God is fighting for them against Egypt!"

(26) And God said to Moses, "Reach your hand out over the sea, and the water will go back over Egypt, over his chariots and over his horsemen." (27) And Moses reached his hand out over the sea, and the sea went back to its strong flow toward morning, and Egypt was fleeing toward it. And God tossed the Egyptians into the sea. (28) And the waters went back and covered the chariots and the horsemen -- all of Pharaoh's army who were coming after them in the sea. Not even one of them was left. (29) And the children of Israel had gone on the dry ground through the sea, and the water had been a wall to them at their right and at their left. (30) And God saved Israel from Egypt's hand that day. And Israel saw Egypt dead on the seashore. (31) And Israel saw the big hand that God had used against Egypt, and the people feared/had awe of God, and they trusted in God and in Moses His servant.
