Memory of Musaf

May it be your will, our God and God our of ancestors that the memory of our ancestors rise before you, how they approached you in ancient days by bringing obligatory korbanot—regular offerings according to their order and additional offerings according to their laws. And ever since our Temple was destroyed and we were exiled from our land, the murmuring of our lips and the meditations of our hearts are what we bring close before you, like the korbanot of our ancestors.

We desire the closeness of God – how do we approach?
We have asked to do God’s will – what does God want?
And God is hidden, dwelling in regions most remote,
The universe is in God’s hand, but God’s actions are everywhere concealed.
However, we are commanded to keep God’s covenant throughout our generations.

As it is written:

(22) But Samuel said: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As much as in obedience to the LORD’s command? Surely, obedience is better than sacrifice, Compliance than the fat of rams.

Your fellow human when he sinks into poverty – strengthen him.
The stranger who dwells among you – love her.
The one who labors in your house – pay her that very day.
And the water you drink from your well – leave the community its share.
What your lips have promised – do,
And fulfill your vows to the most holy.
God has given you the years of your life:
Bring your offering from the hours you’ve been granted.

(15) May the words of my mouth and the prayer of my heart be acceptable to You, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.

May The One who makes heavenly peace also make peace for us our people, and all who dwell on earth. And we say, "AMEN!"
