Deuteronomy 24:16
Parents shall not be put to death for children, nor children be put to death for parents: a person shall be put to death only for his/her own crime. [JPS translation edited for gender-neutrality]

Suggested Discussion Questions:

1. Why might we assume that children and parents are responsible for each other? Why aren't they in reality?

2. To what extent is our generation paying for the mistakes of our parents generation? To what extent is the generation of our parents paying for our mistakes?
