Genesis 2:24
Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. [Translation by Rabbi Steven Greenberg]

Suggested Discussion Questions:

What does it mean to "become one flesh?"

How do we understand the experience of marriage in a world where we do not proceed directly from our parents to our spouse?

What, if any, significance is there to the fact that the man leaves his parents to cleave to the wife, rather than vice versa?
