I Kings 14:23-24
מלאכים א יד:כג–כד
כג וַיִּבְנוּ גַם-הֵמָּה לָהֶם בָּמוֹת וּמַצֵּבוֹת, וַאֲשֵׁרִים, עַל כָּל-גִּבְעָה גְבֹהָה, וְתַחַת כָּל-עֵץ רַעֲנָן. כד וְגַם-קָדֵשׁ, הָיָה בָאָרֶץ: עָשׂוּ, כְּכֹל הַתּוֹעֲבֹת הַגּוֹיִם, אֲשֶׁר הוֹרִישׁ יְהוָה, מִפְּנֵי בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.
They built for themselves shrines, pillars, and sacred posts on every high hill and under every leafy tree and there was also a kadesh in the land, so they were imitating all the toevot of the nations that the Lord had dispossessed before the children of Israel.
