(יז) וְלֹ֤א תוֹנוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־עֲמִית֔וֹ וְיָרֵ֖אתָ מֵֽאֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃ (יח) וַעֲשִׂיתֶם֙ אֶת־חֻקֹּתַ֔י וְאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַ֥י תִּשְׁמְר֖וּ וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם אֹתָ֑ם וִֽישַׁבְתֶּ֥ם עַל־הָאָ֖רֶץ לָבֶֽטַח׃ (יט) וְנָתְנָ֤ה הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ פִּרְיָ֔הּ וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֖ם לָשֹׂ֑בַע וִֽישַׁבְתֶּ֥ם לָבֶ֖טַח עָלֶֽיהָ׃
(17) And ye shall not wrong one another; but thou shalt fear thy God; for I am the LORD your God. (18) Wherefore ye shall do My statutes, and keep Mine ordinances and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety. (19) And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat until ye have enough, and dwell therein in safety.
וישבתם לבטח עליה ולא תשאו חרפת רעב בגוים שלא תצטרכו ללכת בארצותם לקנות התבואה:
וישבתם לבטח עליה, you will not need to be embarrassed by having to import food because your land did not provide you with sufficient means of nutrition.
וחזר ואמר (בפסוק הבא) ונתנה הארץ פריה וגו' וישבתם לבטח עליה" שלא תצטרכו לצאת ממנה בשביעית לגור בארץ אחרת מפני חוסר לחם
