About Rav Kook
Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook, also known by the acronym “haRaayah” or simply as “haRav” (“the rabbi”) by his followers, was the first Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi in pre-state Israel and an essential figure in the development of religious Zionism. He was a talmudic scholar, philosopher, mystic, and poet. Most of his works were not originally written as books, but were compiled by his students from notes left in a series of journals.
