(לב) ושמרתם זו משנה, ועשיתם זו מעשה, את כל החוקים אלו המדרשות, ואת המשפטים אלו הדינים, אשר אנכי נותן לפניכם היום, יהיו חביבים עליך היום כאילו היום קבלתם אותם מהר סיני, יהו רגילים בפיכם כאילו היום שמעתם אותם סליק פיסקא (Devarim 11:32) "And you shall observe": This is Mishnah (i.e., learning). "to do": This is act (i.e., performance of the mitzvoth). "all the statutes": These are the medrashoth (i.e., exegetical derivations). "and the judgments": These are the laws … "that I set before you this day": Let them be as beloved by you as if you had received them this day at Mount Sinai, and let them be as fluent in your mouth as if you had heard them just today.
