The commentary of Narboni (Moses of Narbonne) on Maimonides’ Guide for the Perplexed was composed at the end of the author’s life, when his son pointed out that he had written many commentaries on Aristotelian works by Averroes and other philosophical writings but had neglected the Guide. The commentary was widely circulated even while only in manuscript form, but was also often criticized for extreme rationalistic views, such as rejection of miracles.
