Malbim on Job 9:34

יסר מעלי שבטו שהם היסורים, וגם אימתו וגדלו אל תבעתני, בענין שלא אירא לדבר כל אשר ארצה לא מפחד העונש ולא מיראת רוממותו, עד כי. He requests that his suffering cease so that he can address Him on more even terms and prove his innocence
