קלע ᴵ to sling, hurl forth.
    — Qal - קָלַע 1 he slang, hurled forth, shot (in the Bible occurring only Jud. 20:16 and Jer. 10:18); MH 2 he threw at a mark.
    — Niph. - נִקְלַע MH 1 was thrown at a mark; NH 2 (after Aram. אִקְלַע) ‘he was thrown’, whence ‘he happened to come, came by chance’.
    — Pi. - קִלַּע he slung, hurled (in the Bible occurring only Sam. I 17:49 and 25:29).
    — Pu. - קֻלַּע was thrown, was shot at.
    — Nith. - נִתֽקַלַּע was thrown. [Denominated from קֶלַע ᴵ. cp. Aram.–Syr. קלע (of s.m.), which are also denominative.] Derivatives: קַלָּע, קִלּוּעַ, קָלִיעַ, קְלִיעָה ᴵ, קוֹלֵעַ, קַלְעָן, הִקָּלְעוּת, מַקְלֵעַ, מְקֻלָּע, מִקְלַעַת ᴵᴵ.
