נשׁל to slip or drop off; to draw off.
— Qal - נַשַׁל 1 it slipped off, dropped off; 2 he drew off (sandal); 3 he drove out.
— Pi. - נִשֵּׁל he drove out, ejected.
— Pu. - נֻשַּׁל was driven out, was ejected.
— Hiph. - הִשִּׁיל he dropped, let fall.
— Hith. - הִתְנַשֵּׁל it fell of itself. [Aram. אַשֵּׁיל (= he cast out from the house), Arab. nasala (= it fell off — said of hair or feathers). Prob. related to שׁלל or to נשׁר. cp. רשׁל.] Derivatives: נֶשֶׁל, נִשּׁוּל, נָשִׁיל, נְשִׁילָה, הַשָּׁלָה, מְנֻשָּׁל הִנָּשְׁלוּת.
