רחף to move gently, to hover, fly, flutter.
    — Qal - רָחַף 1 it shook, trembled; MH 2 it flew, fluttered.
    — Pi. - רִחֵף it hovered, flew, fluttered.
    — Hith. - הִתֽרַחֵף it flew, fluttered.
    — Hiph. - הִרְחִיף MH 1 it caused to fly; NH 2 it caused to tremble; NH 3 it trembled.
    — Hoph. - הֻרְחַף it was made to fly. [Syr. רַחֵף (= it moved gently, hovered, it brooded). Perhaps related to Arab. raḫafa (= was soft). However, it is more prob. that base רחף is a metathesis var. of פרח ᴵᴵ (= to fly).] Derivatives: רַחַף, רַחֲפָנִי, רַחֶפֶת, רְחֹפֶת, רָחוּף, רִחוּף, רָחִיף, רֽחִיפָה, מֶרֽחָפָה, תַּרֽחִיף.
