Rebbi Eleazar bar Sadoq says, heave before the Sabbath117Since heave must be consumed by Cohanim, who are few, the ways of disposal on the Sabbath are not available; it must be disposed of on Friday. But profane matter may be disposed of following the Sages. and profane on their time.

HALAKHAH: It turns out that Rebbi Meïr parallels Rebbi Eliezer but is more stringent than Rebbi Eliezer. For Rebbi Eliezer says “that he not transgress not to be seen nor be found.” Rebbi Meïr says, that he not possibly transgress not to be seen nor be found118In Halakhah 3, R. Eliezer requires that the rules of ḥallah be bent to avoid the ḥallah dough becoming fermented. Here R. Meïr requires that heave be eliminated early even through it is a biblical requirement that it be treated as sanctum(Num. 18:8) and be consumed by the priest and their families (v. 13).. It turns out that the rabbis parallel Rebbi Joshua but are more stringent than Rebbi Joshua. For Rebbi Joshua says that one does not burn sancta on a holiday, and the rabbis say, even on weekdays one does not burn sancta119Since profane food may be disposed of at any time (Halakhah 2:1), it is clear that the Sages only insist that heave may not destroyed before it time. This parallels the opinion of R. Joshua who in Halakhah 3 insist that ḥallah dough may not be touched..
