Ibn Ezra on Leviticus 14:8

וכבס. וגלח את כל שערו. כלל: AND…SHALL WASH HIS CLOTHES AND SHAVE OFF ALL HIS HAIR. A general statement.²⁹The first half of our verse does not describe what the leper is to undergo on the day that he is sprinkled with the hyssop, but rather describes in general terms what the leper must undergo seven days later in order to be cleansed. The details are given in the next verse.

ורחץ במים וטהר. בערב כמשפט ואחר כן שב לפרש כי זה יהיה אחר ימים שבעה וכן היה משפט שבעה של מרים ופרט כי יגלח את כל שערו ביום השביעי וביאר כל שערו את ראשו ואת זקנו ואת גבות עיניו וזאת המלה קרובה מגזרת גב: AND BATHE HIMSELF IN WATER, AND HE SHALL BE CLEAN. In the evening, as is the law.³⁰See Lev. 17:15: And bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even; then shall he be clean. See also Lev. 11:32. After stating this,³¹And…shall wash his clothes and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water, and he shall be clean. Scripture backtracks and explains that this³²The washing and shaving. occurs after seven days.³³In other words, But shall dwell outside his tent seven days describes what happens before the bathing and shaving. The same law applied to the seven days of Miriam.³⁴Miriam, who was struck with leprosy, had to dwell outside of the camp for seven days. See Num. 12:14. Scripture details³⁵In verse 9. that he shall shave all his hair on the seventh day. Scripture then goes on to explain that the meaning of all his hair is, the hair on his head, his beard, and his eyebrows. The word gabbot (eyebrows) is close in meaning to the word gav (high place).³⁶See Ezek. 16:24.
