וצוה הכהן ושחט. כהן אחר או ישראל ויש אומרים המצורע והוא רחוק: AND THE PRIEST SHALL COMMAND TO KILL. The priest shall command another kohen or an Israelite.20To slaughter the bird. Some say he shall command the leper. However, the latter is farfetched.21For the leper is being cleansed.

אל כלי חרס. כמו על, וכן אל הנער הזה התפללתי: IN AN EARTHEN VESSEL. The word el (in)22Which literally means to. is to be rendered as over. Similarly el (for) in For this child I prayed (I Sam. 1:27).23Here too the word el is not to be rendered literally.
