והנה מראה. לא יתכן בדקדוק מראה בקמץ גדול תחת האל״ף והה״א במפיק כמו ידה רגלה כי לא נמצא כן בבעלי הה״א הנח הנעלם בסוף המלה ודגשות נו״ן: AND, BEHOLD, IF THE APPEARANCE THEREOF. It is not grammatically correct to vocalize the alef of mareha (its appearance) with a long kamatz and a mappik44A dot which indicates a pronominal suffix (her or its). The heh of marah is a pronominal suffix. We would therefore expect it to have a mappik. Hence I.E.’s comment. in the heh as in the case of yadah (her hand) and raglah (her foot),45Yadah (her hand) and raglah end in kamatz, mappik heh. If marehah followed their vocalization, the word would read marah. for we do not find words whose roots end in a silent heh to be so treated.46The root of marehah is resh, alef, heh.
