Ibn Ezra on Leviticus 1:14

מן התרים. גדולים ולא קטנים: TURTLE-DOVES. Fully grown, not young.

בני היונה. להוציא את הגדולים על כן לא אמרו יונים: YOUNG PIGEONS. Scripture reads bene yonah (young pigeons) because it wants to exclude fully grown pigeons. It therefore does not say yonim (pigeons).⁸⁵Which would indicate fully grown pigeons.
