אַדְּרַבָּא, אַדְּרַבָּה (contr. of על דרבה, v. אַדְּ־) turn to the stronger side, whence as a dialectic term, on the contrary. Pes. 28ᵃ, a. fr. א׳ איפכא מסתברא on the contrary, the reverse stands to reason. Ib. 77ᵃ הוה אמינא א׳ I might have said, ‘On the contrary’ &c.; a. fr.
